business development EXECUTIVE, WEST COAST
We have an immediate opening for a BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE on the West Coast. In this new position, you’ll create opportunities for sales growth within our target markets and across our multiple business lines, products and services. Among your challenges: Develop marketing strategy, apply creative thinking, use your combination of solid presentation skills and proven track record of building brand awareness to develop relationships and close sales. On a daily basis, you’ll be identifying appropriate opportunities, leading creative and proposal development, presenting and closing business and providing support and guidance to the account teams. This results-driven position will be primarily measured by pipeline/opportunity created; business closed and account team growth and development.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop thorough understanding of Sparks and devise communicate strategies to present complete portfolio of products and services with emphasis on events, exhibits and tradeshow programs.
- Develop and design sales plans that sell Sparks products/services within identified target accounts and vertical markets specializing in Events and Exhibits sales -- with a primary focus on West Coast companies.
- Pursue target accounts, evaluate opportunities, build relationships, collect key information and drive internal teams to create proposals and presentations to prospects.
- Capitalize on all business development techniques: phone, email, html, direct mail, association involvement, public speaking and networking to build relationships and create opportunities.
- Strategize and collaborate with the Marketing and Creative departments to prepare RFPS, RFIs, and presentations.
- Follow up and evaluate opportunities that come into Sparks in the form of RFP’s, RFI’s and general inquiries.
- Present and transition sold business to a Sparks Account Director and Account team assigned to the project/program.
- Support EVP of Sales and VP, Business Development in directing company sales efforts and helping in presentations, client relationship management and with closing sales.
- Provide weekly reporting on items such as prospect meetings, new opportunities, project development and targeted campaigns.
- Follow all Sparks company policies and procedures.
- Agency track record a must.
- Travel as required.
